My name is Jacquie Morgan. My husband and I adopted Lanie in March of 2009Our dog Pup died about 2 years before and we were finally ready to get another pet. After doing research we decided that we would adopt a larger dog 2-3 years old. I started looking online at the dogs available. I looked for about 3 months.
When I saw Lanie, I thought she was so pretty and the description said she was “cuddly”, just what I was looking for. When we first saw her she went right up to my husband. It was love at first sight. She fit into our home the minute we brought her home. No adjustment at all. She is the sweetest dog in the world.
One strange thing about her (and believe me I’m not complaining) she hardly ever barks. We live in the country and have wild animals all around, deer, fox. She never barks at them. The only animal she barks at is cats. She differently isn’t a lover of outside, especially if it is hot, she would just as soon stay inside sleeping. We recommend adopting from APAC to everyone we know. And to be lucky enough to adopt a dog that has been fostered is even better. We would like to thank everyone that took care of our sweet Lanie before she found us, her Forever Home.
What's even more heartwarming about this story is that Lanie is a large dog with a black coat. For whatever reason, they have an especially hard time finding their forever homes. Our own shelter here in Temple has one dog, Silly Girl, who is just a ball of joy. I have visited her on a few occasions & even took her for a walk. What a fun girl, absolutely lives up to her name. In fact our shelter has quite a few large black dogs who are always in the mood for visitors. It does your soul good to give some shelter dogs a little love.
