This Thursday evening I was so happy to see a message notification from Malinda, who is Ladybug & BB Coot's mama. It was a joy to read all about Ladybug's happy tail!
Ladybug and her new blood(hound) sister, BB Coot are not just roommates, they are great friends.
Malinda's first introduction to rescues was when she
generously opened up her heart and her home to a foster dog, who was
quickly adopted. It had been a wonderful experience. When considering bringing another dog into their family, adoption was the only way to go!
We have a one year old bloodhound, BB Coot. She is a hot mess, always into something. Just needing more exercise and playtime. We decided to find her a playmate hoping that it would help. I didn't even think about buying another purebred. I couldn't do that knowing what I know now about rescue dogs. So I sought out bloodhounds on petfinder, and there was Ladybug! I wasn't sure about getting a grown dog, but for that matter I wasn't sure I wanted a puppy again.
After talking with Marianne, I knew that Ladybug would fit perfectly into our home. I couldn't wait to go and get her.We drove from Rockwall to Temple to pick her up. The drive was well worth it. She is the sweetest, friendliest biggo ball of paws and wrinkles.
the wrinkles!
"As the days went by and Ladybug became more comfortable and realized
she was a member of our family their friendship blossomed"
Ladybug has not really decided where she wants to sleep so she frequents everyone's bed, except ours of course, that BB Coot's spot. That is really the only thing Coot won't share.
No worries for Bug though, she has 2 other beds to choose from.
Looks like Ladybug can snuggle up anywhere she likes.
My goal of finding BB Coot a playmate was a complete success. Not only did BB Coot get what she needed, we got a new member of our family. We love her as if we had her from the beginning.I encourage everyone to adopt from a rescue. I am completely convinced that rescue dogs make the best pets ever. Thanks,Malinda
I agree with Malinda wholeheartedly, rescue dogs do make the best pets. Thank you so much, for sharing sweet Bug's story (and her gorgeous wrinkles) with us all.
