Love Miss Lacy, she's a tuxedo dog. I have a soft spot for tuxedo dogs, since my childhood best dog friend, Lucy, the 'lab assistant'
This is one happy girl
Lacy looks a bit like a lab assistant herself; a lab-pit mix (?) perhaps. The best breeds are the mystery breeds. I know this!
I was wandering around at the Temple animal shelter, not really planning on taking a dog home. I was just hanging out with a friend. I walked back into the lobby and saw a woman (Marianne) with a dog (Lacy) on a leash. I don't really know what drew me to Lacy, but I remember thinking that she was already taken (at the time, I didn't know about APAC). I went to rub her belly and Marianne told me she was up for adoption. I would have taken her home right then, but I didn't have the money. I had to wait for a week until I got paid. All I thought about was Lacy for that entire week. I finally picked her and took her to get some food, treats, and other stuff.
Lacy was nervous when she first came to live with Kody, but quickly warmed up. She wags her tail all the time now. If you have ever seen a pit or pit mix wag their tail, you know what a wonderful sight it is. They put their entire soul into it!
When I my wife and I got married, Lacy got a sister. A Basset hound named Sadie. At first Sadie didn't really like Lacy because she a stubborn hound dog. But after a couple of weeks, they were pals.
Lacy loves to go anywhere. She knows when we are getting ready to take them somewhere and she starts shaking like she cold. I guess shes just excited. We take both dogs on walks all the time.
It was hot one day during a walk, and Lacy decided to go for a swim. I didn't realize that some dogs can't swim. She sank to the bottom of the river. Luckily she was on a leash and I was able to just yank her out of the water. My wife was freaking out, I thought it was funny. We laugh about it today when she gets in the water.
She also like to ride in the front seat and put her head out the window.
I'm glad I picked her. She hangs around with me or my wife when were home. Shes laying on the floor next to me as I'm writing this. She will come and lay in the bed with us when we are just being lazy. It's nice. She also likes to be alone sometimes. We'll be watching tv and she be laying with one of us, and she'll just get up and go lay in her bed in the other room. She's a weirdo, but I would have it any other way.
So heartwarming to read Lacy's Happy Tail, to know that she has such a loving, happy family.
