We have a shortage of foster homes, especially when it comes to cats. It's much easier to find homes for the kittens (no mystery, kittens are adorable little fluff balls!) but harder to find them for adult cats.
We currently have 3 cats in our "Almost Foster" program. So, what does that mean? Good question!
It means they have been vetted, received all of their shots, been spayed or neutered and been started on heartguard. The "Almost" means they sleep at the Temple Animal Shelter. They still come out with us to events and receive a little extra attention from us when we're at the shelter.
This is Peanut #A025098 She is a spayed, domestic shorthair, white with black spots. She likes scratches, treats and snuggles. She's about 8 years old and needs a home with a lot of love.

Next up is Miss Snickers #A025162 Spayed, Orange & Calico Domestic Shorthair. One look at her beautiful coat, you will know where she got her name. Snickers is a sweetheart. She is a lady first though, please give her a moment, introduce yourself properly and she will be your friend forever.

This dapper young fellow is Professor Whiskers #A025292 He won't tell anyone what he's a professor of and I am beginning to doubt he has even been to college, much less taught. But I humor him. The professor is a neutered domestic short hair. He's about a year old. He tells me he thinks he'd make a good mouser, I agree. He's a licker, which I find delightful. I will be giving him pats & snuggles and he responds by showing me him fluffy white belly and licking my hand.
Likes: shredded chicken, ear scratches, snuggling
Dislikes: Dogs, though *I* think he could learn to tolerate them
If you think you could foster one of these three please give us a call (254 773-3988) or email (myhappytail@yahoo.com) to find out more about the program. Basically you have a furry little house guest that you bring them out to the adoption events (you do not need to stay, unless you want to). Our next event is going to be on December 3rd.
If you think one of these lovely kitties would be a good fit in your home, please call or email. Visit them in the shelter, spend some 1 on 1 time, or contact us to connect you to your new family member! The adoption fee for each cat is $50 and that money goes to continuing our commitment to finding good homes for good pets in the Bell County area.
