1st Day as a Foster

Fostering is something I had wanted to do for a while. When I heard Marianne speaking about it though, how you aren't as sad to say goodbye because you are looking for the next dog/cat that needs you.

It became something I felt called to do. We have 2 bigger dogs in a smaller home ;) not too bad though, we all fit (happily!) and I have a husband who is, well, not feeling the call.

Yesterday I spoke with him, about support. About how fulfilling doing work with APAC is for me. About how I need support. I need to do this.

Meet Lucy!

Lucy the Foster pup
She's one of the grubby pups from Halloween

One ear perky, one floppy, absolutely miniature compared to my pups but one of the largest in her litter. Soft, fluffy grey fur with many black patches.

Getting started was so much simpler than I had thought. I emailed APAC, through their main email address, Tim (the foster chair) contacted me so quickly and we met at the shelter today to spring this sweet girl.

She is wonderful. Needs a little training, but has two big foster sisters to help her along. She's comfortable around the kids, loves to snuggle in laps and on the couch!

Her next step is to get her spay surgery and the rest of her puppy shots, then she will be up for adoption!

We are always in need of foster families for all breeds and ages (dogs AND cats!!) and if you are feeling the call, just want to give it a shot, please contact us. We can always answer any questions about the process that you may have.
